I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in private practice in West Los Angeles. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and my Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University. I have many years of experience working with children, families, and adults from all walks of life and I am passionate about helping people improve their quality of life.
I began my career working with non-profit community-based mental health agencies where I helped countless families who were dealing with issues such as divorce, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, trauma, and family conflict to name a few. I also worked closely with principals, teachers, and counselors at over 17 schools in the West Los Angeles area in an effort to provide therapy to children and teens. In addition, I have facilitated parenting classes at various Los Angeles schools and clinics to support parents of children in our community.
My approach to treatment focuses on immediate relief of symptoms or distress in order to help people to feel better and achieve a level of satisfaction in their lives. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques including short term evidence-based practices (based on scientific evidence) such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts), along with other effective methods such as Family Systems Therapy (a comprehensive process in assisting families to improve interactions), Psychodynamic (a model that helps individuals make sense of their relationships, experiences, and how they see the world), and play therapy (a way for children to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process during play). My mission is to learn about your needs and utilize the techniques that will bring about the most positive change in your life.
I look forward to learning about your personal journey and I am interested in finding out how you would like to be supported. I offer daytime, evening, and Saturday appointments.
